don't stop moving

Herro and salutations.
I was encouraged to start a blog about the things I know, so this will probably be a short blog. (canned laughter).

But I digress. This blog will be about things I mostly know. Nutrition stuff, Computer stuff and Exercise stuff, and also a few things here and there.

I named this blog "Hi daddy what do doing," because that is what my son asks me everytime I am doing something.

My first post will be about carbs. CARBS CARBS CARBS. For those who think you know about carbs, think again. Carbs are in just about everything we eat. From the veggie section to the candy section. From the sauce on your potatoes, to the sugar you put in your coffee or tea. It's everywhere. And if you don't know how to differentiate between both good and bad carbs, then get to know them.

My wife says that her body is her temple. She is right. That's how you should treat your body, like a temple. If you fill up your temple with garbage, then thats what it will become...a trashy temple. If you fill it with the foods and nutrients that it needs, your body can be the pinnacle of a human being (along with exercise of course). You have to keep moving.

It's simple really, look at the food you are going to eat. Did it come from the ground? Did it grow on a vine or tree? Did it have a face? If yes to all those then chow down!

Don't be a dummy, But nando, bread...bread has wheat, it came from the ground. No estoopid! Bread is a carb. Plain and simple. Our bodies were not meant to break down whole grains, or grains. Stop eating bread and pasta for a month and see what happens. You'll start to loose weight and that fat will start sliding off that panza in no time. That also means no pizza! But ah! There are ways around that!

For example, if I go to a burger place, I order a burger, no bun. Also, no fries or a soda. It sucks at first, but it works. You want ketchup? think again. Let's look at the carb count for ketchup:

Yikes!!! for 1 tsp, you get almost 4 carbs per day. That is not counting the lettuce, cheese, tomato, or onions. Or if you;re like my wife, she eats them plain and dry. Now, lets look at mustard:

YEAH! Much better. See there, 0.3 grams of carbs. Plenty of room for other things if you want. Throw in a few slices of Avocado for some good fats while you're at it. Always read the label. I'll cover that in another blog.

So nando, how much carbs should I be taking in?? Good question. I myself try to stay under 25 grams a day. A DAY. If you go over, no big deal. Just try again tomorrow. If you want to find out what your BMR (Basic Metabolic Rate) is along with how many carbs you should ingest in a day, follow this link and add your information in, weight, height, male/female ect.

Also, if you want to know what a good carb count is for various items, plus their serving size, click on this link

In my up coming links, I will talk about fats, excercise, computer stuff, and the most evil destructive force in the world...sugar.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to add them and I will respond when I can.

Until then, I will finish this first blog from a fitness guy I knew that gave me good advice once.

"don't stop moving"

Love, peace, and bacon grease,
nando
